El Tri in Vancouver

Your Mexico fan guide for World Cup 2026

El Tri in Vancouver

Mexico bring the biggest travelling fanbase in CONCACAF. At every World Cup, Mexican supporters transform their match venues with a sea of green, white, and red. In Vancouver — which has a large and established Mexican and Latin American community — El Tri will feel almost at home.

Expect organised supporter groups, pre-match street parties, mariachi, and the distinctive roar of “Me-xi-co!” echoing around BC Place. Mexican fans are known for their warmth, creativity, and endurance — they turn a football match into a full-day celebration.

Where Mexican Fans Are Gathering

Granville Street and the downtown entertainment district will be the main gathering strip for El Tri supporters. The concentration of large sports bars and restaurant patios makes it the natural hub before and after matches.

East Hastings and Kingsway also have authentic Mexican and Latin American restaurants that will be packed on Mexico match days. Look for the Mexico Supporters Vancouver group on social media for organised events.

Getting to BC Place

From Granville Street, BC Place is a 15–20 minute walk south. On match days, walk rather than trying to get a bus or rideshare — the stadium is close and the walk along Robson and then Pacific is part of the experience.

On match days, Stadium–Chinatown SkyTrain station is closed. If coming by SkyTrain, exit at Main Street–Science World and walk 15 minutes west along Terminal Avenue and then south to BC Place.

What to Expect

Vancouver is one of the most welcoming cities in the world for international visitors. Mexican fans will find a city that’s excited to host them — locals are curious and enthusiastic about World Cup visitors. Bring your best chants, your flags, and your patience with the public transit system on match days. The energy in the city on a Mexico match day will be electric.
