Morocco at FIFA World Cup 2026
Morocco are one of the most anticipated sides at the 2026 tournament. Their run to the semi-finals at Qatar 2022 — the deepest any African nation has ever gone at a World Cup — made them a global fan favourite. In Vancouver, the Moroccan community is one of the largest in Canada, and Atlas Lions supporters will be loud, organised, and everywhere.
Where Moroccan Fans Are Gathering
Commercial Drive is the heart of Vancouver’s North African community. The Drive has Moroccan and Tunisian cafes, halal restaurants, and a strong existing community presence. Expect it to be the epicentre of Moroccan fan activity throughout the tournament.
For organised supporter club events, search for the Atlas Lions Vancouver fan group on Facebook and Instagram — they typically book venues for key matches and organise pre-game meetups.
Halal Food Near BC Place
Vancouver has solid halal options near the stadium:
- Hafsia Mediterranean (Robson St) — Moroccan and Tunisian cuisine, halal-friendly. Popular pre-match spot.
- Afghan Horsemen (West Broadway) — Halal, excellent kebabs and rice dishes.
- Istanbul Restaurant (Commercial Dr) — Turkish halal grill, 15 min from BC Place.
On Commercial Drive, several cafes serve Moroccan mint tea and pastries — a great way to connect with the local community before heading to the stadium.
Getting to BC Place
From Commercial Drive, take the Millennium Line SkyTrain from Commercial–Broadway station. Transfer to the Expo Line at Metrotown or ride to VCC–Clark and transfer. On match days, Stadium–Chinatown station is closed — use Main Street–Science World instead and walk 15 minutes.
The full journey is about 25–35 minutes depending on connections. Give yourself 90 minutes on match days — trains fill up fast.
Kit & Gear
The Morocco national team jersey (home red and away white) will be widely recognised in Vancouver. Sport Chek and Foot Locker carry national team kits, or order online well in advance. Moroccan flags and supporter scarves are sold by vendors near BC Place on match days. The Atlas Lion crest and green crescent moon are iconic — you’ll spot fellow Moroccan supporters across the city.
