South Korea in Vancouver

South Korea's national team — the Taeguk Warriors — have one of the most passionate and well-organised fanbases in world football. Their run to the semi-finals at 2002 (co-hosted with Japan) remains one of the tournament's greatest stories. Vancouver's Korean community is one of the largest in North America, making this feel like a genuine home fixture for Korean fans.

Where Korean Fans Gather

Robson Street and Denman Street in the West End have a concentration of Korean restaurants and cafes that will be the natural hub for Taeguk Warriors supporters. The Metrotown area of Burnaby has one of the strongest Korean communities in all of Canada — expect watch parties and fan events there too.

The Korean Football Association BC and Korean community centres will organise official fan events. Follow their social media for match day meetup locations.

Getting to BC Place

From the West End/Robson, BC Place is a 20–25 minute walk or a short SkyTrain ride. From Metrotown, take the Expo Line toward Waterfront and exit at Main Street–Science World on match days (Stadium–Chinatown is closed). Journey time from Metrotown: approximately 25 minutes.

What to Expect

Korean fans are extraordinary. The Red Devils supporter culture — massive coordinated red blocks in the stands, thunderous chanting, and unwavering support regardless of the scoreline — is one of the great spectacles of World Cup football. If South Korea are playing at BC Place, the stadium atmosphere will be exceptional. Vancouver's Korean community will ensure the streets around the stadium and the fan zones are filled with red shirts, drums, and noise from hours before kickoff.
